DeFi Gains Momentum as Grayscale Shifts Focus to Ethena

Grayscale Investments has made significant changes to its crypto portfolios in the latest Q1 2026 rebalancing.

The firm has added Ethena, a yield-focused decentralized finance protocol, to its DeFi Fund, resulting in a 4.33% price increase for Ethena.

This adjustment also involved removing Aerodrome Finance from the DeFi portfolio, signaling a strategic pivot towards projects with stablecoin and yield connections.

As per the latest allocations, Ethena now constitutes 13.59% of Grayscale's DeFi Fund, alongside holdings like Uniswap and Aave.

Moreover, Grayscale has updated the weightings in its Smart Contract Fund but made no new additions or removals.

Ethereum and Solana continue to dominate this fund, highlighting their significance in the blockchain ecosystem.
