Crypto Expansion: eToro Granted MiCA License to Scale Operations Across Europe
EToro has successfully obtained regulatory approval under the MiCA framework from the Cyprus Securities Exchange Commission, enabling it to offer cryptocurrency trading and custody services across the European Economic Area. The MiCA regulations, which became fully effective in December, provide a harmonized legal environment for crypto services within the 27-member EU bloc, and also extend to non-EU countries like Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. Being licensed under MiCA positions eToro alongside other prominent crypto platforms like Bitpanda, OKX, and Crypto.com, who have also secured this essential license. Beyond its cryptocurrency initiatives, eToro, headquartered in Israel, demonstrates its global aspirations by securing operational licenses in key markets, including New York in 2023 and previously in the UK during 2022. This strategic expansion underscores eToro's commitment to adhering to regulatory standards and enhancing its service offerings globally.
